Police release more information on Wednesday morning rollover crash in Fairview Township

A McKeesport man was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning when a water tanker truck overturned on Kittanning Pike in Fairview Township.

Police said Jake A. Coker, 24, was driving an International Harvester water tanker truck around 2:45 a.m. on Kittanning Pike near Fairmont Road when he came to a left curve in the road. Police said Coker was driving too fast and lost control.

The tanker traveled off the road and struck a speed limit sign as it began to roll, police said. The tanker stopped on its roof, and Coker was assisted out by bystanders at the scene.

Karns City Regional Ambulance Service took him to the hospital with unknown injuries. State police and the Petrolia, Chicora and Bruin volunteer fire departments also responded.
