Merl Peters
Merl Elbert Peters, 82, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 1, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Leslie and Jane Waterson Peters.
He retired from Don Martin Trucking after driving truck for over 43 years.
Merl was a member of the Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, collecting and tinkering with antique tractors.
He is survived by his son, Wade (Linda) Peters, of East Butler; grandchildren, Megan (Sonny) Campbell, Kristen Peters and Josh Peters; great-grandchildren, Jeaulyen Kennedy, Leslie Jaques, Hailey Albright, Maddy Toner and Leland Geatreau; two brothers, Bruce (Karen) Peters, of Cranberry Township, and David Peters, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alicia Peters.
PETERS — Visitation for Merl Elbert Peters, who died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., at the funeral home, with his pastor, the Rev. Jason Sinagra, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Nebo Cemetery.
