Kevin L. Mong, 47, of Butler, Clearfield Township, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, Monday morning, Nov. 10, 2025, at his home.

Kevin was born in Grove City on April 15, 1978. He was the son of Frank H. and Joyce E. Faulconbridge Mong, of Butler.

Kevin was a 1996 graduate of Karns City Area High School and graduated from Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School with a degree in heavy equipment repair. Kevin was a longtime employee of Phil Hay and Sons Excavating in Fenelton.

In his earlier years, Kevin was an active member of the Chicora Fire Department. He was a member of the Rattigan Sportsmen’s Club and the Chicora Moose Lodge. Kevin was an avid hunter and looked forward to riding his side-by-side on the trails with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Darin G. Mong, of Karns City; and a nephew, Trevor Thomas Mong; two uncles, Donald Faulconbridge, of Grove City, and Kenneth Faulconbridge, of Hermitage; as well as a number of cousins and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

MONG — Friends of Kevin L. Mong, who died Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at First United Methodist Church, 1802 N. Main St. Extension, Butler.

A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. David Janz, senior church pastor, officiating. A lunch and time of fellowship will follow the service.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Mong’s name may be made to East Butler Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 162, East Butler, PA 16029.
