Soulmate’s murder not political
I am the wife of Corey Comperatore. He was my soulmate, best friend and husband for over 29 years.
He was an amazing father. His kids were his No. 1 priority, and he wanted them raised with the same attributes we both agreed on since we were teenagers. They would be respectful people, always help those in need and honor God.
He proudly served his country by joining the Army right out of high school. He was a volunteer fireman and served as chief with the Buffalo Township company for 30 years.
Not once in three decades of service did Corey ever stop to ask anyone whose home was on fire if they were a Democrat or a Republican before he helped them.
My husband gave the ultimate sacrifice by saving his family on July 13, 2024, when bullets rang out at President Donald Trump’s rally. We witnessed everything.
But understand this: My husband’s death was not political. It was murder.
It was pure evil. Pure hate.
Corey’s Cruise was a day of unity. I want to thank each sponsor we had and for also saying they will do it again for 2026.
To those who write me, continue to pray for our family, see me out and just ask for a hug please know I’m so grateful! The girls and I appreciate all of the goodness that have been given to the man we love.
To the ones who just hide behind the politics, it has to stop.
Helen Comperatore, Buffalo Township
