Lewis L. Doctor Jr., 85, of Butler, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.

Lewis was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Rural Valley, to his parents, Lewis Sr. and Augusta (Salpini) Doctor. He spent his early years working as a professional barber and moved on to be a union painter.

Lewis grew up in Butler with his 10 siblings: Gary Doctor, George “Boots” (Carol) Doctor, Joseph Doctor, Julie (Jeffrey) Bummer, Terri Fratto, Gloria (Raymond) Downing, Toni Herold, Shirley Fend, Carol Fry and Maria (Fred) Honzo.

Lewis was a beloved father to Ronald Doctor, Robert Doctor, Donald Doctor, Linda (Lynn) Redfoot, Augusta (Shawn) Atkinson, Aaron Doctor, Ryan Doctor and Emily (Jonathan) Green. Lewis was also a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather to many. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of the family he created.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Michele Doctor; sisters, Shirley, Maria and Carol; brother, Gary; and great-granddaughter, Cali Rose Kennedy.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside still waters. He renews my strength. He guides me along the right paths, bringing honor to his name. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for He is with me.” Psalm 23: 1-4

Lewis will be remembered for his incredible grit, humor, detailed stories and love for his family.

DOCTOR — Friends and family of Lewis L. Doctor Jr., who died Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, for a celebration of life at the Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge No. 1664, 338 S. Main St., Butler.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
