Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Oct. 21 — Nicholas Duffy Kotula, 51, of Zelienople, was charged with misdemeanor driving with a suspended license following a Sept. 16 traffic stop. Police said Kotula was driving without a valid license.
Oct. 16 — Police investigated a two-vehicle crash between a semitruck and a sedan around 6:15 p.m. on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said Khabibullo Baratov, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., driving a semitruck, failed to yield while changing lanes and struck a Buick LaCrosse driven by Austin R. Kocher, 19, of Erie. Kocher’s passenger, Mary Lou Watkins, 18, of Erie, was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital with a possible injury.
Oct. 20 — Devante D. Scott, 30, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, three misdemeanor DUI counts and misdemeanor controlled substance possession following an Oct. 18 traffic stop in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Scott had open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle, several suspected marijuana cigarettes, 40 grams of methamphetamine, 20 Xanax pills, 5.5 grams of an unknown off-white powder and a pill bottle containing suspected methamphetamine.
Oct. 21 — Dalton James Anthony, 23, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following an Oct. 5 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Anthony showed signs of impairment and tested positive for marijuana.
Oct. 21 — Blake Michael Gornick, 19, of Cheswick, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a Sept. 7 traffic stop in Center Township. Police said Gornick tested positive for THC.
Oct. 21 — Tyler Shaw Atkinson, 26, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following an Oct. 19 traffic stop in Center Township. Police said Atkinson had a blood alcohol content of 0.119%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Oct. 21 — Michael Thomas Gonlin, 33, of Butler, was charged with four misdemeanor DUI counts following a July 11 crash in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Gonlin tested positive for THC.
Oct. 25 — Police investigated a two-vehicle crash around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Route 8 and Staff Road in Brady Township. Police said Jeffery A. Madison, 58, of Harrisville, driving a Jeep Liberty, traveled through a red light and struck a Honda CRV driven by Mary F. Northcott, 58, of Slippery Rock. Madison was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital with a possible injury. His passenger, Melissia A. Fallecker, 40, of Slippery Rock, was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Northcott was transported to AHN Grove City Hospital with unknown injuries.
Oct. 30 — Police investigated a two-vehicle crash around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bicker and Leasureville roads in Winfield Township. Police said Daniel P. Beabout, 30, of East Brady, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado and struck the Toyota RAV4 of Ashley D. Brewer, 26, of Cabot. Brewer was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital with a suspected minor injury.
Oct. 30 — Police investigated a single-vehicle crash around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Marwood Road and Helmbold Avenue in Winfield Township. Police said an unknown driver in a Ford F-150 XLT entered the parking lot of 245 Marwood Road and struck a shed. The vehicle struck the shed’s southwest corner and pushed it into a building. Extensive damage was reported to the shed, and moderate damage to the building, police said.
Nov. 1 — Devon Baptiste, 38, of Butler was arrested Oct. 22 at Mill and Washington streets in Butler on a warrant. Police said he was found in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and provided false identification to police.
