Charges reduced against man accused of stalking Slippery Rock mayor

Felony charges against a man accused of stalking Slippery Rock Borough Mayor Jondavid Longo have been reduced, but misdemeanor charges still remain.

Todd James Hogue, 36, was originally charged in October with one count of felony stalking, two misdemeanor counts of endangering a public official, and one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats and harassment following a series of threatening messages sent to Longo.

According to court documents, the stalking charge has now been reduced to a misdemeanor.

On Friday, Oct. 31, Gilliland Vanasdale Law Office, which represents Hogue, released a supplemental statement regarding the change and thanked Slippery Rock Borough Police Chief Terry Fedokovitz.

“We express our gratitude to the chief for this significant step towards justice,” the statement said.

Charges were filed in July after police said they viewed screenshots of a man named Sam Hogg who had posted Longo’s home address to Facebook 15 times, posted harassing comments and attempted to contact his family and friends.

During the search, police found one of the users associated with Hogg’s account was named TJ Hogue. Police tracked the IP address of the post to the Boston area, and mobile phone records were tracked back to Hogue.

Police said Longo was previously friends with the Hogue family and the two had engaged each other on social media many times before. Police said in September 2024, they were made aware of Hogue repeatedly messaging Longo and his mother.

“Since September of 2024, for almost 400 days, our time with our new baby girl was sabotaged, our peace destroyed and our safety constantly in question,” Longo said.

A statement from Hogue’s attorneys said he maintains that he is the victim and questioned the timing of the charges in relation to a contested election.

“We will vigorously advocate for justice in court on behalf of our client and the constitution that guarantees him and all of us the right to free speech and freedom from political prosecution,” the statement said.

Hogue’s preliminary hearing will be held at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 14, in front of District Judge Joseph Nash.
