Western PA March of Dimes announces medical honoree award winner
A Pittsburgh medical professional is set to be the recipient of the Western PA March of Dimes’ Medical Honoree Award at the upcoming Pittsburgh Signature Chefs Auction on Monday, Nov. 3.
Dr. Marcia Klein-Patel, the chair of Allegheny Health Network Women’s Institute, was selected by a committee of local leaders to be recognized for her “dedication, passion and leadership around the March of Dimes’ mission to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies before, during and after pregnancy,” a release from March of Dimes said.
Currently, Klein-Patel is focused on addressing the crisis around access to care of obstetrical and gynecology care in the area, the release said.
The award will be presented at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, at the 31st annual Pittsburgh Signature Chefs Auction at Rivers Casino. The event will feature chefs and vendors serving food; a live and silent auction; and a family sharing their own story and helping to raise awareness about March of Dimes’ mission.
