State police responded to Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School on Wednesday, Oct. 29, for reports of a 13-year-old male student from Armstrong County possessing THC vape pens.

“Karns City Area School District is committed to maintaining a safe and drug-free learning environment for all learners,” district superintendent Eric Ritzert said. “Any violation of this will be reported to the Pennsylvania State Police and the district will pursue disciplinary action in accordance with the student code of conduct and Pennsylvania state law.”

No charges had been filed as of Thursday morning.
