Jeanne Emanuele

Emanuele

Jeanne Marie Grossi Emanuele, 94, of Butler, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Nov. 7, 1930, in Butler, Jeanne was the only child of the late Hugo Grossi and Juliette Bruni Grossi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Emanuele, with whom she shared 70 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and deep devotion.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Daniel Emanuele (Cindy Emanuele), of Bethel Park, Gina Mahood (Pete Greenstreet), of Lynnwood, Wash., Mark Emanuele (Marianne Emanuele), of Prescott, Ariz., and Julie Cartwright (Dr. Scott Cartwright) of Franklin, Pa. She was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and great-grandmother of 10, all of whom brought her great joy and were the center of her heart.

A 1948 graduate of Butler High School, Jeanne began her career as secretary to the Butler superintendent of schools. She met Herman soon after, and the two were married May 29, 1954, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where Jeanne remained a lifelong and active member. She served on the St. Michael’s school board and was involved in parish life for many years, offering her time and support wherever she was needed.

Family was always at the heart of Jeanne’s life. She found joy in the simple, enduring rhythms of family and home — playing cards with friends and loved ones, caring for her grandchildren and cooking hearty Italian meals that brought everyone together. Jeanne loved to fill her pantry with jars of canned tomatoes and vegetables from the large family garden that Herman tended so faithfully during his retirement.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jeanne also had a quiet love of learning and reflection. A prolific reader, she found comfort and inspiration in books throughout her life. Jeanne and Herman shared a love of travel and spent many summers exploring the country in their RV with their grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will live on for generations.

Jeanne’s warmth, kindness and steady presence touched everyone who knew her. She was the glue that held the family together and she never ever complained. Her legacy is one of love, faith and family — a life well-lived and deeply appreciated.
