Charlotte Weaver Massung
Charlotte A. Weaver Massung, 90, of Harrisburg, formerly of North Sewickley Township, passed away peacefully at her home in Kindred Place at Harrisburg, surrounded by family on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.
Born in 1935, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. Arnold Sr. and Leona E. (Barbiaux) Arnold.
Charlotte graduated in 1952 from Har-Brack High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1956 from Findley College in Ohio. She worked for many years as a receptionist at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople until her retirement in 1997. Charlotte was also a former member of Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople and belonged to AARP.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Mark (Karen) Weaver and Melissa (Karen Ryan) Weaver, her granddaughter, Ashley (Dalton) Deimler, her grandsons, Jason (Ashley) Thomas, all of Harrisburg; Joshua (Sarah) Thomas of Lewisberry, Pa.; her niece, Natalie (Richard) Piermarini of Leominster, Mass.; and her dear friend, Ann Murphy of Zelienople.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Weaver, who passed away in 1989; her second husband, Franklyn “Frank” Massung, who passed away in 2008; her siblings, Mardelle O. Arnold and Edward F. Arnold Jr.; and her beloved Rottweilers, Willie and Princess.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing, watching country-western movies, watching golf, hockey and football, reading and camping. She was also an avid Penn State football fan and supported all the Pittsburgh professional sports teams. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
WEAVER MASSUNG — Private funeral arrangements for Charlotte A. Weaver Massung, who died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
She will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Gardens in Cheswick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
