Police: Man covered in feces breaks SRU vehicle window

A Harrison City man is accused of breaking the window of a Slippery Rock University vehicle while covered in feces.

Connor Daniel Evangeliste, 18, was charged Monday, Oct. 27, with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor disorderly conduct following a Sept. 21 incident at Morrow Field House on Slippery Rock University’s campus.

Police said they responded to the area for a car alarm that kept going off. When on scene, police saw Evangeliste quickly moving toward the Morrow Field House entrance. Police said the man is not an SRU student or resident.

Police said Evangeliste was covered in what appeared to be mud during the interaction. Evangeliste told police he was trying to get inside and get warm.

Police allowed Evangeliste inside to wash himself. When asked why he was covered in mud, Evangeliste told police he was not proud of what he was covered in. An officer then determined the substance to be feces.

Police also asked Evangeliste about the car alarm they were dispatched for. Evangeliste told police the vehicle was a white Buick he believed belonged to his parents.

The vehicle belonged to Slippery Rock University, police said.

Police went with Evangeliste to the vehicle and found glass all around the vehicle, with the back window broken by a rock, which was laying on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Police also viewed minor cuts on Evangeliste’s arms, legs and hands.

Evangeliste told police he broke the window because he needed to get inside the vehicle and get warm. He told police he did not remember what happened the previous night or why he was in the parking lot.

Police found Evangeliste had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.106%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.

Slippery Rock University athletics is requesting $8,681.01 in restitution.

Evangeliste’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Nash has not been scheduled.
