Candace “Candy” Brake, 63, of Cabot passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.

She was born in Natrona Heights on July 22, 1962, to the late Delmont “Hoss” and Patricia Peiffer.

Candy graduated from Freeport High School. Candy loved event planning and entertaining, anything from home projects to charcuterie boards. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, karaoke and Steelers football. Candy was known for being a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, and a loving grandmother and aunt.

Candy was the beloved wife of the late Harry Brake; mother of Joe (Mallory) Schreckengost, Nicole (George) Hobaugh, Amanda (Dusty) Brown, Kristen (Dennis) Brake and numerous stepchildren; sister of Valerie Brake; and grandmother of Garrett, Avery, Audrina, Peyton, Kolton, Alia, Bryar, Conor and Jaxon.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Peiffer.

BRAKE — Family and friends of Candace “Candy” Brake, who died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
