Mary Ann Benninger

Mary Ann Benninger, 84, of Chicora, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 24, 2025, at Quality Life Services — Chicora.

Mary Ann was born in Butler on July 25, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Paul Francis and Helen Louise Rodgers Benninger.

She was a 1959 graduate of Chicora High School. She had been employed as a unit secretary at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was a lifetime member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.

Mary Ann always enjoyed playing cards and drinking a Pepsi. She was known for her great holiday decoration displays, as she loved decorating for every holiday.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Benninger, and his wife, Rose, of Butler; a sister, Dot Turner, and her husband, Jim, of Chicora; her nieces and nephews, Sherry Lehnard, Sheila Finer, Scott Case, Katie Mihalak, Tracey Fisher, Keith Fisher, Annie Fleming, Nathan Turner, Michael Turner and Elizabeth Werner; as well as a number of cousins; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, infant Helen Benninger, Bernadette Benninger, Judy Fisher, Donna Barto and Cindy Lou Benninger.
