Nichter

Emma N. Nichter, 95, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.

She was born in Bruin on Aug. 4, 1930, to the late William and Arley Snow.

Emma graduated from Bruin High School and most recently worked at Sears until her retirement. She was known for always having a positive and happy attitude and was very meticulous about things. Emma enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, 500 rum and baking.

Emma was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Nichter, whom she married Sept. 7, 1950, and who passed away in 2016; mother of Jennifer Davis, Bradley and Darrin (Christine) Nichter; and grandmother of Hansel (Jody) and Ryan Lucas. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Along with her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Harkins; her siblings, Lavina Barnes and Fanny Rogers; and her son-in-law, Richard Davis.

NICHTER — All services and burial for Emma N. Nichter, who died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
