Andrew ‘Red’ Nordberg
Andrew “Red” Nordberg, 35, of Butler, sadly lost his battle with addiction on Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.
He was born at Balboa Naval Hospital in California on June 23, 1990, to Erika (Peters) and the late Phillip Nordberg.
Red graduated from St. Stephens Academy in 2008 and was employed as a U.S. Marine Corps combat engineer until 2012. He then began working as a general construction laborer. He was known for being intelligent, inquisitive and energetic. Red enjoyed reading, computers and video games. While he was at St. Stephens Academy, he loved working in the horse barn.
He leaves behind his mother, Erika Nordberg; and his longtime partner and friend, Lauretta Thurston; aunts and uncles, Sonya (Dan) Durkacs and Heather (Clint Weaver) Reynolds.
Along with his father, Red was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walt and Joy Nordberg and Donal Peters and Katherine Fraser.
NORDBERG — All services for Andrew “Red” Nordberg, who died Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local drug and alcohol treatment facility.
