SAXONBURG, Pa.— J and J Farms Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit founded by Jessica Poutous and Jesse Blake, is home to more than 150 rescued and rehabilitated farm animals.
The sanctuary takes in animals that have been surrendered, rescued or are otherwise in need of care. Its residents range from chickens and ducks to horses, barn cats and dogs.
Run entirely by volunteers, the Saxonburg sanctuary hosts community events throughout the year, including craft workshops and Christmas photo sessions.
