Charlene Ott
Charlene Suzanne Ott, 78, of Butler, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025.
Born March 30, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Charlene was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and a strong foundation of faith and community that guided her throughout her life.
Charlene built a distinguished 25-year career with GE Capital, serving as a credit analyst. Her dedication and professionalism earned her numerous travel incentives, allowing her and her beloved husband of 54 years, John, to explore many exotic destinations around the world — experiences that became treasured memories for them both.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Charlene lived a life rich in passion and purpose. A devoted reader and member of several local book clubs, she delighted in stories that broadened her perspective and sparked meaningful conversations. Her love of nature and beauty was evident in her gardening and landscaping, and she was a member of the Butler Garden Club, where she shared her talents and enthusiasm with others.
Charlene’s faith was central to her life. She was a longtime member of Nativity Lutheran Church in Allison Park, where she served faithfully in the Christian Outreach program and the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her quiet strength, compassion and generosity of spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John, who lovingly called her “The Pigeon.” The nickname became a cherished symbol of their enduring affection — a private reminder of the humor, tenderness and devotion that defined their 54 years together.
