Turnpike Commission wraps $10.4 million Cranberry Interchange Project
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced on Tuesday it has finished a two-year, $10.4 million improvement project at the Cranberry Interchange, Exit 28.
The project, which began in July 2023, wrapped up on schedule following a final inspection last week, according to a news release. Work included concrete pavement and bridge repairs, upgraded guiderails, improved drainage and other safety enhancements.
Engineering firms CDR Maguire, The Markosky Engineering Group and Whitman, Requardt and Associates partnered with the Turnpike Commission on the project.
The upgrades are part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s 10-year, $8 billion Capital Plan investment, which is funded entirely through toll revenue, according to the news release.
The plan aims to improve safety and efficiency across the system, including major projects, such as the Beaver River Bridge replacement project and the expansion of open road tolling, which is scheduled to launch statewide in 2027.
