Douglas Ritzert

Douglas Ritzert, 74, of Evans City, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.

He was born in Grove City on July 28, 1951, to the late George and Twila (Fehl) Ritzert.

Douglas graduated from Seneca Valley High School. He was employed at PennDOT as a heavy equipment truck driver for 35 years, until his retirement.

He was known for being a great husband, father and friend and being extremely hardworking. Douglas was always someone who had to be busy. He enjoyed hunting, running machines and working on local farms. He was a social member of the Veterans Club of Forest County.

Douglas was the beloved husband of Bonnie (Flint) Ritzert, since their marriage on March 2, 1973; and brother of Marlene (Wayne) Bird. He is also survived by his niece, Emily; and nephew, Wayne (Bayleigh) Bird; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason Ritzert.

The family would like to thank VNA Hospice, Hillman Care Center and a special thanks to Ron and Dave for taking such great care of Douglas.

RITZERT — All services for Douglas Ritzert, who died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s.
