Carnahan

Marcia D. Carnahan, 80, of Slippery Rock, passed away suddenly Friday, Oct. 17, 2025.

Born in New Castle on Aug. 28, 1945, to Westell S. and Beulah C. (Beerbower) Aiken, she was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother whose presence lit up every room she entered.

Marcia was a loving mother to Traci (David) Foster, of Grove City, Richard “JR” Walters (Christy Weigel), of Slippery Rock, and Rachel (Bill) Chamberlain, of Harrisville. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Alice Marie Baker, of New Castle. Known affectionately as “Grandmama,” she was immensely proud of her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as her cherished stepchildren and their families. Her nurturing spirit, warm hugs and joyful laughter made her a treasured presence in their lives and in the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carnahan, and her parents.

Marcia’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found comfort and deep community within her church, and she treasured every opportunity to travel — especially when it meant being with family and friends. Her adventurous nature and generous heart made her unforgettable.

In 1981, Marcia began a remarkable journey with Mary Kay. She quickly rose to the top of her field, consistently ranking within the company’s Top 10 sales consultants nationwide. She earned numerous awards and inspired countless women with her grace, perseverance and radiant spirit.

A proud breast cancer survivor, Marcia faced every challenge with unwavering courage and hope. She never allowed adversity to diminish her light.

Passionate about her hometown, she devoted herself to fundraising for the Save Slippery Rock Creek Foundation, which she proudly co-founded to preserve the natural beauty and vitality of the area she loved.

Marcia’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her unwavering faith, boundless generosity and joyful spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Her light and love for the Lord lives on in all of us.

CARNAHAN — A celebration of life gathering for Marcia D. Carnahan, who died Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company, 313 E. Mercer St., Harrisville.
