Glade Run Lake in Butler County will not be stocked until the spring 2026 trout season, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced Monday, Oct. 20.

The commission said the stocking scheduled for Nov. 5 was canceled so the lake can be drawn down for maintenance.

The lake will be drawn down by about four feet during the next several weeks to expose parts of the shoreline with excessive aquatic vegetation. The commission said the draw down will allow the vegetation to dry and freeze.

“This common method for controlling nuisance vegetation through natural methods avoids the use of herbicides and mechanical treatments,” it said.

Anglers can review the 2025 Adult Trout Stocking Schedule to find alternative locations that were stocked this fall, including Buffalo Creek Section 03 and Harbar Acres Lake, both in Butler County.

The lake will be refilled during the winter for lake levels to return to normal before next trout season.
