A Huntingdon teen died Sunday, Oct. 19, in a two-vehicle crash in which his vehicle traveled under the trailer of a commercial vehicle on Interstate 79 in Lawrence County,

Gavin R. Lohr, 19, was declared dead at the scene

Around 9:45 p.m., Lohr was traveling north in a Honda Civic around mile marker 110 on I-79 in Plain Grove Township when he crossed over the grass median into the southbound lanes, police said.

Lohr’s vehicle struck the side of the commercial vehicle’s trailer before traveling underneath it and into the west median, according to a news release. The commercial vehicle was driven by Balwant Singh, 31, of Brampton, Ontario.

State police in Mercer, Slippery Rock Fire Rescue, East End Volunteer Fire Department, Springfield Township Fire Department, Mecer Auto Wreckers, PennDOT and the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
