James Hawn
James R. Hawn, 80, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 17, 2025, at Quality Life Services-Sarver.
Born Sept. 17, 1945, in Middlesex Township, he was the son of Norman and Margaret Barton Hawn.
Jim was a caseworker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and he had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He had been a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church.
He and his wife enjoyed dancing and were active with the former Pittsburgh Jitterbug Club and the Three Rivers Bop Club.
Surviving are his wife, Carmela M. Passaretti Hawn, whom he married March 20, 1976; a daughter, Kristen Volek, of Middlesex Township; his grandchildren, Ginger and Chaney Best; two sisters, Barbara Calderwood, of Butler, and M. Elaine Schmidt (Joseph), of Valencia; a brother, Norman Hawn (LaVaughn), of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two nephews.
HAWN — Friends of James R. Hawn, who died Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.
A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Township.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
