Police: No charges filed against man carrying gun on Knoch Primary School grounds
Police will not file charges against a man who was open-carrying a firearm on Knoch Primary School grounds in Jefferson Township.
State police said they responded around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, for reports of a man openly carrying a pistol on school grounds. Police said the 33-year-old man was waiting to pick up a student during dismissal and did not cause any issues or threaten anyone.
Police concluded the man was in possession of a firearm for a lawful purpose.
Superintendent David Foley declined to comment further on the incident.
