Barbara ‘Breeze’ Menchyk

Barbara “Breeze” Lynn (McKenna) Menchyk, 62, of Connoquenessing, lost her 12-year, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, while a patient in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born July 5, 1963, in Kane, Pa., she is the daughter of Josephine Adair McKenna and the late Michael McKenna.

For over 25 years, she had been a pyrotechnician and enjoyed setting off fireworks. She was a cleaning lady for many years and she will be remembered for her friendly smile and conversations while she worked at B & E Market on Route 68.

Breeze enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband, Frankie, cooking, baking, socializing, hosting parties and attending fun events. She was very outgoing and loved being around people. She had a big heart for others and will be remembered for always giving to others, having a free spirit, and showing lots of love and energy even when her health tried to slow her down.

She was a former board member and active volunteer for Riding For The Cure and Music For The Cure. She was also a member of the Butler County ABATE Chapter 13. She was very active and supported a lot of local benefits.

Breeze is survived by her loving husband, Frank A. Menchyk Jr., whom she married Oct. 2, 2010; her daughter, Brandi (Derek) Rippey, of Rote, Pa.; two grandsons, Kyle and Brantley Rippey; her stepson, TJ (Emily) Schubert, of Butler; her mother, Josephine McKenna, of Mount Jewett; her siblings, Melissa (Patrick) McGuire, of Mount Jewett, Mike (Linda) McKenna, of Hermitage, Debra Double, of Cortland, Ohio, and Carol (John) Wallace-McKay, of Sharpsville; father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Janet Menchyk Sr., of Prospect; sister-in-law, Laurie (Lee) Redenbach, of Evans City; nephew, Daman (Erica) Redenbach; a number of other nieces and nephews; and her blue pit bull, Little Dude.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael McKenna; and her uncle, Joe Adair.

MENCHYK — The family of Barbara “Breeze” Lynn (McKenna) Menchyk, who died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, is planning a celebration of life service in the springtime.

Cremation services have been entrusted to RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
