Miller Minutes: Events to attend this weekend

‘No excuse to stay inside’

There’s no excuse to stay inside this weekend. There’s a slew of events happening in and around Butler County.

But whether you find yourself staying in or going out, I have your entire weekend planned.

’Tis the season for spooky, autumn-themed movies — a subject I consider myself an expert in. I wanted to recommend some of my favorite fall flicks, in case you find yourself unable to move because of a cold, a prior commitment or dismal weather.

Just call me your friendly neighborhood video-store worker (if you remember video stores).

  • “When Harry Met Sally” (my favorite of all time … immaculate fall vibes)
  • “Practical Magic”
  • “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”
  • “Scream 2” (how often is the sequel better than the original?)
  • “You’ve Got Mail”
  • “Psycho”
  • “Knives Out”
  • “The Invisible Man” (1933)
  • “Moonstruck” (Nicholas Cage … need I say more?)
  • “The Pale Blue Eye” (a portion was filmed in Moraine State Park!)
  • The “Twilight” series

You may have time to squeeze in a few of these movies and get out on the town. This, I highly recommend, because there is so much fall fun happening I may burst!
