Butler still contemplating annex renovation at Art Bernardi Stadium
Butler Area School District is still contemplating weather it should fix up the indoor annex next to Art Bernardi Stadium.
Superintendent Brian White said at a school board meeting Monday, Oct. 15, that the architecture design firms it reached out to, Weber Murphy Fox, had conducted an assessment of the annex.
The school board previously said it had reached out to Weber Murphy Fox and Pittsburgh-based engineering firm Tower Engineering to perform an initial assessment of what repairs may need to be made.
In letters posted by the school district to its website, the companies estimated work on the annex by the two would cost a minimum of $25,000 and $9,000, respectively.
“Architects from WMF have been on site to do an assessment on the annex. As of now, they have not gotten a report back to us,” White said. “They also did a needs assessment for us to go through, things like what was in the building, and what we’ll need configuration wise, as far as space and things like that. I’m hoping to get another update in the near future.”
Issues with the annex include the roof, HVAC and “groundwater issues.”
White has previously said he hopes for final analysis to be completed and presented to the school board by December.
