Colleen Halagich

Halagich

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Colleen M. Halagich, 75, of Butler, who lost her intense and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025.

Born June 13, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jeanne (Steigerwald) Murphy.

Colleen was a 1968 graduate of St. Benedict Academy, and went on to retire from Alcoa. She was a truly beautiful soul; always kind, giving, loyal, funny and grateful for anything and everything that anyone did for her.

Colleen was also one of the strongest women you would ever meet and never complained, even though she spent her final years in excruciating pain. She endured and overcame so much throughout her life, and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Above all else, Colleen was a totally devoted mother to her sons, and adored spending time with her family and grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Edward Halagich; her siblings, Patricia Cavanaugh, Deborah (Dennis) Houlihan, Daniel (Cyndie) Murphy and Jeanne Goad; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Halagich; her son, John Halagich; her sister, Kathleen Murphy; and her brother-in-law, Mike Cavanaugh.

HALAGICH — Friends of Colleen M. Halagich, who died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m.
