One patient flown from Thursday night crash on New Castle Road

A Butler man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash Thursday night, Oct. 9, in Lyndora.

Police said Jack Johnson, 19, sustained serious injuries and was flown to Allegheny General Hospital after the 10 p.m. crash.

Butler Township police said Johnson was driving a Hyundai Kona down the hill around 10:06 p.m. on New Castle Road and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado coming from the opposite direction operated by Dakota Suchonic-Thomas, 28, of Evans City.

Suchonic-Thomas sustained minor injuries and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

The collision caused the Hyundai Kona to go partially up a hillside before overturning.

Crews were on the scene with the road shut down for just under two hours. Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, Butler Bureau of Fire, VA Fire and Emergency Services and Butler Ambulance Service responded.
