Jeffrey Bester
Jeffrey J. Bester, 61, of Butler, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at his favorite place — his camp in Wilcox, Pa., in Elk County.
He was born on May 21, 1964, in Grove City, the son of the late Joseph E. Bester and Wilda Jane (Christy) Bester.
He was a graduate of Butler High School, continued his education at Butler County Community College and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University.
Jeff worked for many years as the head of maintenance at AGR International.
He loved spending time at camp with Deb, and their two beloved dogs, Sadie May and Honey Bell. Surrounded by nature, friends and camp buddies, it was the place he loved most.
Jeff is survived by his life partner, Debbie Gaul, of Butler; his sister, Janet (Steve) Cumberland, of West Sunbury; his brother, Jim (Diane Sutara) Bester, of Upper Burrell; stepson, TJ Gaul, of Washington; nephew, Justin (Katie) Cumberland, of Fairview; and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Bud and Louise Bester, who raised him.
BESTER — Friends of Jeffrey J. Bester, who died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
Private burial will take place at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
