Deretha Barger
Deretha E. Barger, 92, of Sarver, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born Oct. 3, 1933, in Fairmount City, she was the daughter of Wilbert Neiswonger and Ethel (Radaker) Neiswonger. Deretha was brought into this world by her grandmother, Bertha Radaker.
Deretha was a member of Church of God in Lower Burrell. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, quilting, playing the piano, singing and playing bingo. Most important to Deretha was reading the Bible and loving her family.
Surviving are four daughters, Debra (Joseph) Puskar, of Natrona Heights, Rhonda (Peter) Schoedel, of Sarver, Sandra (Allan) Woolard, of Kissimmee, Fla., and Crystal (Robert) Haus, of Arnold; three sisters, Pauline George, of Ohio, Wilda Croyle, of New Bethlehem, and Sylvia (Dave) Fields, of Dallas, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. “Bill” Barger Jr., on Jan. 29, 2025; one brother, Elwood Neiswonger; and a grandson, Eric James Barger.
BARGER — Friends of Deretha E. Barger, who died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Harbaugh officiating.
Interment will follow in Sarversville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
