Free speech must be upheld
In the Sept. 28 paper, the letters from Jill Mick (“Trump is securing our borders,” Page A4) and Debbie Pichler (“America needs political sanity,” Page A4) were published with divergent views of the Donald Trump presidency.
They discussed a lot of current issues but neither mentioned the status of free speech in the media, yet both of them were exercising that constitutional right in a rational manner.
Maybe these letters were composed before recent activity by President Trump boldly saying he would take away media licenses whose reports criticize him.
I try to concern my opinions on matters that directly affect me; I am exercising my free speech now. Americans need to choose free speech or Donald J. Trump; you can't have both!
