What a show! Butler County Band Festival highlights talent
Wow. What a show on Tuesday evening at Butler Area School District’s Art Bernardi Stadium.
The Butler County Band Festival — a fall tradition for our community — presented the halftime shows of area high school marching bands well into the night and the community cheered from the stands nearby.
Our local bands deserve this attention. These high school students start training amid the summer to prepare shows that entertain on Friday nights throughout the fall.
The work they put in and the resulting performances are impressive. And further impressive is how our community comes together for a night that highlights all the area bands.
The event included performances by the bands associated with Butler Area, Karns City Area, Knoch, Mars Area, Moniteau, Seneca Valley and Slippery Rock Area school districts and North Catholic High School. Plus, the Slippery Rock University Marching Pride put on a show.
The upbeat evening was photographed by the Butler Eagle and can be seen at photos.butlereagle.com, and videos showed the various bands’ shows on social media like Facebook.
We applaud the students for their hard work and the organizers for putting on a show that showcases local talent and presents the arts in such a great light.
