Paul Gorman

Gorman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Paul M. Gorman, at the age of 56. He passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at his Community Living Arrangement — Valley Community Services, in Butler.

He was born Sept. 18, 1969, in West View, Pa. He was the son of the late John P. Gorman and Beatrice M. (Barnhart) Gorman. He leaves behind six brothers, John (Linda), Kenneth (Judy), Raymond (Susan), Ronald (Melinda), Daniel (Kimberly) and Robert (Gynni) Gorman. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, as well as grandnephews and grandnieces to cherish his memories.

As a young individual, he was one of the first students with Down syndrome that was mainstreamed and graduated from Northgate High School, in June 1991. In May of 1993, he earned a certificate in janitorial housekeeping from Community College of Allegheny County.

While living in Allegheny County with his parents, Paul was very active in Special Olympics, North Star Specials. He was an usher at St. Athanasius Church in West View. He later moved to Melbourne, Fla., with his parents and while there, he became a member with the Knights of Columbus and continued to usher and be involved in Special Olympics.

Upon his parents passing, Paul returned to Pittsburgh. Since July 2020, Paul had been living in a Community Living Arrangement in Butler, under the care of Valley Community Services. We would like to thank Krystal Flynn and the staff at Valley Community Services for taking extraordinary care of Paul. The entire staff loved him dearly and treated him like family.

Paul will be remembered with love and laughter by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

GORMAN — Friends and family of Paul M. Gorman, who died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew. There will be a short blessing and prayer service immediately after the visitation.
