Election coverage underway, go to the polls informed
In just over a month, people will line up at Butler County polling places to cast ballots in the general election.
This Election Day, of course, isn’t quite as flashy as last November’s, but despite the lack of a presidential headliner, casting a ballot in the upcoming election is still important.
In the Tuesday, Sept. 30, edition of the Butler Eagle, we kicked off our election preview coverage with a story about a race that will appear on every Butler County voter’s ballot — the one for county clerk of courts.
In this race, Michael De Nee, a 21-year teacher and the Democratic candidate, and Tammy D. Thibodeau, a 20-year court clerk and the Republican candidate, are competing to replace longtime Clerk of Courts Lisa Lotz.
Voters will determine who takes the helm at the turn of the new year.
Meanwhile, there are other contested races of note in a number of Butler County municipalities.
Of note, Butler city and the Slippery Rock have contested mayoral and council races.
We hope you’ll stay tuned to the Butler Eagle and stay informed as you prepare for the upcoming election.
Whether you vote in person come Nov. 4 or cast a ballot in advance, we hope voters in the county will take time to go into their decision-making informed.
