Police: No evidence threat to Grove City College was credible
Grove City College’s Henry Buhl Library was evacuated and a shelter in place order was issued Sunday, Sept., 28, after a potential threat was reported, according to Grove City borough police’s Facebook page.
In a post at about 7:30 p.m., police said a report of an individual with a gun in the vicinity of the library was received Sunday afternoon.
In accordance with college safety policies, the evacuation and shelter in place order were issued while police searched campus buildings and reviewed security footage.
According to police, “no evidence was found to confirm the report” of an individual carrying a gun.
As of 7: 30 p.m., an all-clear for the campus had been issued.
Pennsylvania State Police, the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team and college campus safety personnel also responded to the incident.
According to police, “a number of swatting incidents” occurred in the region Sunday.
