This is in response to Vincent Sanzotti’s letter to the Butler Eagle on Sept. 21 (“Looking for insight from Trump supporters,” Page A4).

First, let me say I truly appreciate, Mr. Sanzotti, that you want to have a conversation about why we support President Donald Trump. You are right that this is the first step to understanding. You may not agree with our views, but I hope you’ll see why we think the way we do.

While the economy was a top priority for many, the 11 million immigrants who came to this country illegally was mine. I feel gang members, rapists, pedophiles and drug pushers were let in with no vetting at all.

Then the government spent billions of dollars on these people. Meanwhile, our veterans, people with disabilities and the elderly were doing without. We have homeless and hungry Americans, but I believe our money was going to these criminals. And, yes, they are criminals.

Border crossings are at an all-time low thanks to President Trump.

Do I agree with everything Trump does or says? No. But he is more pro-America than anyone I’ve seen in a long time.

This country is becoming great again!
