Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo awarded the 2025 Mayor Longo Neighborhood Scholarships to two Slippery Rock Area School District graduates.

Emma Zorn and Madison Gauselmann each received a $600 scholarship to support their studies at Westminster College and Slippery Rock University, respectively.

Longo has donated 100% of his $1,200 pretax annual mayoral salary to fund charitable causes, nonprofits and scholarships in the Slippery Rock community. The Mayor Longo Neighborhood Scholarship, typically divided into four $300 awards, was adjusted this year to provide $600 to Zorn and Gauselmann, who were the only two applicants eligible this year.

The scholarship is designed to support Slippery Rock Area School District graduates who choose to pursue their education locally at institutions such as Slippery Rock University, Butler County Community College, Westminster College, Grove City College or New Castle School of Trades.

“Emma and Madison are shining examples of the talent and dedication found in our community,” Longo said. “It’s an honor to support their educational journeys and to encourage them to continue making a positive impact right here in Slippery Rock.”
