Independence Health System will host its inaugural Lung Cancer Awareness Walk on Oct. 18 at its Crossroads campus on Oneida Valley Road in Summit Township.

The walk is being held to raise awareness for initiatives of the Advanced Lung Center at Butler Memorial Hospital, such as investment in new technology, education on the dangers of smoking and vaping, and increasing awareness of the benefits of lung cancer screening.

Registration for the walk is free and those who register by Oct. 3 will receive a free T-shirt.
