Margaret “Peggy” Templeton Grimm, 85, of Slippery Rock, passed away at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Grove City on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025.

She was born and raised in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the daughter of Orman C. “Pete” Templeton and Isabel Campbell Templeton.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1958 and later from Slippery Rock State College, now Slippery Rock University, in 1964. Margaret, known as “Miss T” to her students, was retired after 31½ years of teaching grades four, five and six in the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District. She was a former member of the Pennsylvania Teachers Association until she became head teacher in the Crawford Memorial School building in Emlenton, Pa. When she talked about her students, she referred to them as “My Kids.”

She was a former member of the Emlenton United Methodist Church and was active in many church committees. At her passing, she was a member of Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock. Margaret enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and doing the daily crossword puzzle and cryptoquote in the newspaper.

Margaret is survived by her stepchildren, Carol Bowser, of Emlenton, Ruth Kluge, of Swansboro, N.C., and Harry R. (Sue) Grimm, of Enon Valley; seven nieces and nephews, Kathy Ann Uber, of Texas, Michael Croll, of Slippery Rock, John (Pamela) Croll, of Slippery Rock, David (Sue) Templeton, of Carrollton, Texas, Cheryl Ann Templeton, of Slippery Rock, Mark (Lisa) Templeton, of North Carolina, and Kimberly (Dennis) Durnell, of Slippery Rock. She is also survived by seven stepgrandchildren, 23 stepgreat-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry F. Grimm, whom she married Oct. 6, 2001; her sister and her husband, Ethel and Samuel Croll; brother, Robert L. Templeton; and her stepgrandson, Andrew Miller.

GRIMM — Margaret “Peggy” Templeton Grimm, who died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, requested that there be no viewing.

A memorial service will be conducted at Center Presbyterian Church, 211 Center St., Slippery Rock, at the discretion of her family. Details will be announced at a later date.

Interment will be at the Crawford Memorial Cemetery in Emlenton, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Slippery Rock Fire and Rescue Team or Center Presbyterian Church.
