Janet K. Platt, 80, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, while under the care of Allegheny General Hospital.

Born on May 27, 1945, in Upper Darby, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Eleanor (Green) Koch.

Janet was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church. She was a teacher for 24 years at Butler Area School District. She enjoyed gardening and tennis. She was the former president of the Butler Garden Club and was also a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Butler. She often volunteered for the Butler Senior High girls tennis team. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her five grandchildren.

Janet leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Thomas Platt; her sons, Stephen (Nicia) Platt, Christopher (Kim) Platt and Jeffrey (Liza) Platt; her grandchildren, Chloe, Nina, Connor, Emily and Ellen; and her brother, Robert Koch.

PLATT — A celebration of life service will be held at a later date for Janet K. Platt, who died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.
