Cranberry Township man accused of contractor fraud

A Cranberry Township man is accused of contractor fraud related to a heating and cooling company.

Milo Ray Corll, 35, was charged Tuesday, Sept. 23, with one felony count each of theft, receiving stolen property, deceptive business practices, and receiving advance payment and failing to perform following a July 28 incident.

Police said Corll, an employee of Union Air Heating & Cooling, allegedly provided an estimate to install a new furnace and AC unit in a Cranberry Township residence. Police said Corll cashed a $5,250 check from the buyer on May 29.

Police said the buyer attempted to contact Corll multiple times to schedule the installation but was unsuccessful. The buyer also requested Corll return the funds but has not received them or any communication from Corll.

Aside from the charges, one other person accused Corll of contractor fraud in a July 24 Facebook post where he allegedly accepted funds for an $8,000 project and did not complete the work.

District court records show Corll and the business have been sued in multiple instances.

Corll’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Kevin Flaherty has not yet been scheduled.
