Diana Steffan
Diana L. Steffan, 82, of Butler, formerly of Chicora, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, 2025, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Butler.
Diana was born in Butler on June 8, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Stanley W. “Tucker” and Isabel Wenner Simpson.
Diana grew up in Fairview, graduated from Fairview Township-Karns City High School in 1961 and was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.
In her earlier years, Diana was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Chicora and had been a longtime active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora. She was proud of being on the founding council of the newly created Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in May of 1993.
She owned and operated her own beauty salon on Main Street in Chicora for several years and was also the owner of Lucky Dog Grooming, which she operated from her home on Pine Ridge Drive. Later, she was employed at Friedman’s in Chicora and Friedman’s BiLo in Butler. Diana most recently worked at Sam’s Club as a food demonstrator. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and thoroughly enjoyed her fellowship at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Andrew Steffan, whom she married at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora on Aug. 17, 1968. Mr. Steffan preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Troy Andrew Steffan, of Butler, and Quay Donald Steffan, of Connequennessing. Diana was affectionately “Nanny” to her granddaughter, Abby Cuffman, a student at Clarion University. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Inez R. Simpson, of Chicora, and Carol and John Cielslinski, of Natrona Heights; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James E. “Jim” Simpson; and a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Ronald Preston.
STEFFAN — Friends of Diana L. Steffan, who died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Dennis Barger, lifelong family friend and pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.
