SLIPPERY ROCK — Mayor Jondavid Longo told Slippery Rock Area School District‘s valedictorian, Kara Shidemantle, that even though she isn’t a resident of the borough, she carries the name and legacy of Slippery Rock forward.
Shidemantle, alongside salutatorian Anderson Franco, were recognized by Longo at the Slippery Rock Borough Council meeting Tuesday, Sept. 16, for their academic achievement in the past school year.
“You’re going to go forth and continue to be good ambassadors to show everybody what it is we’re made of here and, hopefully, you’ll come back and you’ll bring your talents back home,” Longo told them before presenting a certificate of commendation to each of them.
