Ten different Freeport players got on the scoreboard Thursday night as the Yellowjackets downed Highlands 11-0 in non-conference girls soccer action. Camryn Woods notched two goals, while Natalia Urik, Cece Schlegel, Alyssa Cooper, Brinley Sullivan, Maggie Conger, Marcy Mattivi, Makenna Woodside, Alyssa Lasko and Sophia Conger had one apiece.
Alyssa Alcorn and Sophia Crawford combined for the shutout in net for Freeport (8-1), who faces Shady Side Academy on Saturday.
Karns City 4, St. Marys 1 — Phoebe Brandon, Hanna Dailey, Bree O’Donnell and Sophia Bonetto all netted goals for the Gremlins.
Boys soccer
Ryan Sutara scored a pair and Spencer Valasek, Xavier DeWitt and Caleb Passarelli added one each as Freeport downed Burrell 5-0. The Yellowjackets (6-3-1, 3-3-1 in WPIAL Section 1-2A) face Shady Side Academy on Tuesday.
Butler 2, Pine-Richland 1 — Jackson Stewart scored a game-winner in overtime, with an assist by Ryan Conaway. Jude Perhacs also got on the board for the Golden Tornado (4-5, 1-4).
Seneca Valley 1, North Hills 0 — Owen Eastgate scored for the Raiders (9-1, 4-1), who have won three straight.
St. Marys 2, Karns City 0 — Brock Dittman had 17 saves for the Gremlins in the setback.
Girls golf
Elise Wadas and Makenna Myler posted a 39 and 42, respectively, as Mars downed Seneca Valley 172-202. Taylor Orosz added a 45 and Addison Pangonis a 46.
Shaler 192, Butler 194 — Rylee Gage tied the Titans’ Isabella Sciulli for a match-best 42 in the Golden Tornado’s season-ending two-stroke defeat. Katie Dick had a 49 for Butler (3-10, 2-10).
Girls volleyball
Naomi Venesky had an ace and eight kills, but Karns City fell in straight sets against Redbank Valley at home. The scores of the match were 25-17, 25-19 and 26-24.
The Gremlins fall to 4-5, with a 2-4 conference mark.
Keystone 3, A-C Valley 0 — Maddy Dehart had six kills, six blocks and four digs in the sweep loss. Alexia Altman added seven assists and eight digs.
Clarion-Limestone 3, Moniteau 0 — Emily Matz had seven kills, eight blocks and six digs for the Warriors.
North Allegheny 3, Butler 0 — Raina Lewandowski had 10 kills and nine digs for the Golden Tornado (5-4, 1-3), who lost by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-18.
Butler plays Pine-Richland at home on Tuesday.
