Two vehicles crash on Main Street in Butler
A section of Butler’s Main Street was blocked off Sunday, Sept. 14, as police and emergency medical personnel are responding to a crash near the intersection of Main Street and New Castle Road in Butler.
According to Butler County dispatch, the crash occurred at 8:19 p.m. As of 8:35 p.m., the street has been blocked off with yellow police tape near the Dollar General. Debris was seen on the road, including a dislodged car tire.
At least two vehicles were involved - one black and one silver. Units from the VA Butler Fire & Emergency Services, Butler Township Police Department, and City of Butler Police Department were on the scene Sunday evening.
An eyewitness, Dawn, who declined to provide her last name, said emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to extract the driver from the black vehicle, which came to rest in front of the Brick House restaurant. The silver car was wrapped around a pole near First Commonwealth Bank.
“I didn’t see the actual impact, but I heard his tires squeal,” she said. “He spun around and landed over there, and they had to use the Jaws of Life to get him out.”
