Carol Knotick
Carol Jean Knotick, 86, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, with her family at her bedside.
She was born in Butler on July 22, 1939, to the late George and Genevieve (Pappalard) Monks. Carol graduated from Butler High School and then furthered her education at Butler County Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1960.
She was known for having a generous heart, genuine spirit and great sense of humor. Carol grew up in an Italian family and carried on her mom’s tradition of cooking Italian favorites. She enjoyed going on walks, loved family gatherings, vacationing to the beach, metal detecting and attending her monthly neighborhood card club.
Carol was the beloved wife of the late Raymond S. Knotick, whom she was married to for 58 years, until his passing on Sept. 15, 2020; mother of Jennifer (Rick) Marnic and Curt (Christine) Knotick; sister of Adam (Marianne) Monks; grandmother of Richard Marnic, Megan (Lukas) Kriger, who carried on her tradition as an RN, and Amanda (John) Morrison; and great-grandmother of Lincoln, Emmy and Caroline Morrison.
Along with her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Eric Knotick; and her sister, Carmel (Jack) Balderson.
KNOTICK — Family and friends of Carol Jean Knotick, who died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, will be received for a memorial gathering from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eric S. Knotick Memorial Scholarship, with checks payable to the Clarion University Foundation, 840 Wood St., Clarion, PA 16214-1222.
