Butler man accused of spitting on hospital staff

A Butler man is accused of spitting on a doctor and emergency care technician Thursday, Sept., 11, at Butler Memorial Hospital, according to police.

Steven Franklin Hudson, 37, was charged with felony aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of child endangerment, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment stemming from an incident that began in Penn Township.

Police said they were dispatched to a residence and found Hudson sitting on the porch screaming loudly while intoxicated.

Police said Hudson attempted to enter the residence and grabbed a juvenile by the neck and began to push him.

Police then took Hudson to Butler Memorial Hospital where he allegedly spat on the two hospital employees, according to the affidavit.

Hudson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday before District Judge Jack Ripper.
