Marshal: Electrical fire tore through Kittanning multifamily home
The Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, fire that displaced seven people and caused extensive damage to a multifamily home in the 100 block of South Jefferson Street in Kittanning was electrical in nature, according to the borough’s fire marshal Earl Kline.
Kline said Wednesday that the fire, which prompted several alarms and required assistance from fire departments across the region, started on the building’s third floor.
The four-alarm structure fire was reported at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday. An Armstrong County dispatcher said about 20 fire stations, including companies from Armstrong and Butler counties, responded to the area.
